The secretary general, Alapan Bandopadhyay, wrote to the secretary of the interior of the Union, Ajay Bhalla, that he has been ordered to request “to dispense with the presence of state officials” at the meeting called on December 14.
The Union Ministry of the Interior had summoned the two senior officials following an adverse report from Governor Jagdeep Dhankar on the law and order situation in the state.
The ruling TMC has described the measure of the Center as unconstitutional. He accused the Center of interfering with the federal structure and claimed that the provocative speeches by the Bengal BJP president were leading to a cruel situation.

The governor in his report claimed that lawbreakers in Bengal have the protection of the police and the administration. He also advised Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee ‘Do not play with fire’.

Acting swiftly on the governor’s report, the Union Ministry of the Interior convened the chief secretary of state and the DGP on December 14.
Nadda’s convoy had ‘convicted criminals’ and thugs: TMC
The ruling Trinamool Congress reacted strongly to the events and accused the BJP of trying to create a situation in which the central government could interfere in state-related matters.
High-ranking TMC MPs Saugata Roy and Kalyan Banerjee alleged that Nadda’s convoy contained “convicted criminals” and thugs who carried weapons with the malicious intention of instigating violence.

Seven arrested in connection with attack on Nadda’s convoy
Meanwhile, the West Bengal police arrested seven people for their alleged involvement in the attack on the national president of the BJP.
Four people were arrested in Lack and three in the area of the Usthi police station, both in the 24 South district of Parganas.
The seven have been registered in various sections of the IPC for riots, obstruction of public servants in the performance of public functions and other crimes.
