Astronomers at the University of Geneva with colleagues from the Swiss PlanetS Institute during the new observations found a space system, consisting of six exoplanets. Now he found a total of 10 similar objects.
Scientists observed star HD 158259, located at a distance of 88 light years from Earth, when they noticed six exoplanets, forming a single system. They move in “spatial harmony”. That is, the celestial bodies cooperate closely with each other and with the central object by gravitational attraction. In the solar system, similar phenomena are observed on Neptune and Pluto. Physicists claim that “spatial harmony” is, in fact, lacking because three turns closer to the star, the planet has two that follow it. However, its location is almost perfect and quite rare. Supposedly, they discovered extrasolar planets formed away from the star, and then approached it.
Scientists have now known more than 4,000 celestial bodies outside the solar system. Theoretically, in some of the exoplanets species can evolve. Among them are the “hot Jupiter”, a kind of gas giant that orbits the star.
