Video: Assam Doctor dances to the rhythm of 'Ghungroo' to cheer up Covid patients

Dressed in full personal protective equipment, a doctor shakes a leg to the beat of the song ‘Ghungroo’.

A doctor in Assam is winning hearts with his spirited rendition of the song Ghungroo of the movie War. A video circulating widely online shows Dr. Arup Senapati dancing to the song while dressed in full PPE gear, apparently in an attempt to cheer up COVID-19 patients at his Silchar hospital.

The video was shared on Twitter by Dr. Syed Faizan Ahmad a day ago, and has since garnered more than 2 billion views on the microblogging platform.

According to Dr. Ahmad, the video shows ENT surgeon Dr. Arup Senapati shaking a leg in front of COVID-19 patients at Silchar Medical College, Assam. In the video, the doctor can be seen dressed in full protective gear as he shows off some impressive dance moves and even reproduces Hritik Roshan’s signature step in the song.

“Meet my #COVID service colleague, Dr. Arup Senapati, Otolaryngologist Surgeon at Silchar Medical School, Assam.
Dance in front of COVID patients to make them feel happy, “Dr. Ahmad wrote while sharing the clip on Twitter.

Since it was posted online, the video has earned over 15,000 ‘likes’ along with 2 billion views and tons of appreciative comments.

“He is too good. And they salute him and all the frontline warriors who endure in these trying times. We are in debt,” wrote one Twitter user.

“He’s wonderful! Wow! My hat is off to him! In such stressful circumstances, he’s bringing joy to everyone!” said another.

In June, a video of three doctors at Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru dancing to an old Hindi song while wearing PPE equipment went viral on social media.
