New Delhi:
The Aam Admi Party (AAP) alleged today that Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been placed under house arrest by Delhi police since Monday, particularly in the wake of his visit to the Singhu border on Monday and the Bharat Bandh called today by farmers protesting against the new central agricultural laws.

The party said that under the orders of the Union Ministry of the Interior, the police made the three mayors of the different municipalities of Delhi protest at the residence of the Chief Minister, creating a pretext for his arrest. Mr. Kejriwal’s residence has therefore been completely blocked, with no one allowed to enter or leave the premises.
All of their official meetings have been canceled for the day under the circumstances, AAP officials said.
Mr Kejriwal had visited the Singhu border crossing between Delhi and Haryana on Monday to meet with protesting farmers and inquire about their well-being. Thousands of farmers have stationed there, along with other border points with Delhi and other states, in protest against the distant central government ordinances passed in September.
They have been seeking the unconditional repeal of the three laws that they consider seriously detrimental to them. The protesters have called for a Bharat Bandh today, a measure supported by various political parties, including Congress, the left, the SP and the BSP.
In anticipation of the problems, several leaders of various parties in Uttar Pradesh, including the head of the SP, Akhilesh Yadav, have reportedly been detained or subjected to conditions similar to house arrest. On Monday, Mr. Yadav tried to break through barricades and go to a protest rally in Kannauj, but was detained by the police.
