Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Monday hailed his party’s first victory in the Goa Zilla Panchayat elections, which marked the party’s first electoral history in the coastal state.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Goa has made great strides in the Zilla Panchayat elections, winning 32 of the 49 seats on offer, while the opposition Congress performed poorly, with only four.
The AAP opened its account with Hanzel Fernandes, who won the Benaulim seat in South Goa.
