The farmers told police that they wanted to go to Delhi to show solidarity with their counterparts in Punjab and Haryana, but were denied entry to the Noida-Greater Noida highway.
A group of farmers who tried to enter Gautam Budh Nagar from Bulandshahr was also stopped at the Luharli tollbooth and a representative group was asked to come forward from the Ghaziabad side.
Meanwhile, travelers had to fight grunts at the DND and Chilla borders, where the Delhi Police It had put up barricades and trucks full of sand to prevent farmers from entering the national capital. In neighboring Ghaziabad, a group of GB Nagar farmers had reached the Mohan Nagar crossing from where they tried to move to Delhi, but the police did not allow their movement.
The farmers were asked to deliver a memorandum to the additional city magistrate, Vinay Singh, and the circle officer Keshav Mishra, after which they dispersed.
In view of the farmers’ march to Delhi, more than 500 policemen have been deployed to the Ghaziabad-Delhi border. According to the Ghaziabad police, up to 20 checkpoints have been set up at UP Gate and the Kaushambi area near the Ghaziabad-Delhi border. On the blue line, there will be no services from New Ashok Nagar to downtown Noida and from Anand Vihar to Vaishali until 2pm on Friday.
