Armaan Jain’s South Mumbai residence on Altamount Road was reportedly searched in connection with the Tops Grup case currently under the DE’s scanner.
Armaan Jain summoned by ED in money laundering case, the actor’s residence in South Mumbai was searched by officials.
The Directorate of Enforcement on Tuesday searched the residence of actor Armaan Jain in connection with a money laundering case that is being investigated by the agency. This is the same day that the Kapoor family lost Rajiv Kapoor due to cardiac arrest. According to a report by India Today, Armaan Jain’s residence in South Mumbai on Altamount Road was searched in connection with the Tops Grup case currently under the scanner.
It turns out that Armaan is close friends with Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik’s son, Vihang, who is under investigation by the Emergency Department. The actor’s name came up after Vihang was questioned and his mobile data was taken into account. The agency reportedly appears to have found a suspicious communication between Armaan and Vihang, and thus the actor has been summoned by the emergency department.
However, an official from the Emergency Department told ANI: “He (Armaan) did not appear today before the agency.” The report further revealed that MLA Sarnaik and his two sons have been questioned by the Emergency Department on multiple occasions regarding the “alleged exchange of funds” between Sarnaik’s aides and Tops Grup officials.

The problems came to light when Tops Grup obtained a contract from MMRDA to provide security at its construction sites. However, the officials pointed out that the security guards were actually much fewer compared to those mentioned in the contracts. This caused the MMRDA to incur massive losses and resulted in MLA Sarnaik receiving illicit payments while helping Tops Grup secure the deal in the first place.
Armaan Jain, son of Reema Kapoor, Raj Kapoor’s daughter, has worked on some movies and got married last year. The wedding was a huge event attended by her cousins Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor, among others.
