The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) summoned actor Arjun Rampal on Monday in connection with its ongoing investigation into the alleged Bollywood drug trade. This comes hours after the NCB raided his Mumbai residence, and a day after film producer Firoz Nadiadwala’s wife, Shabana Saeed, was arrested by the bureau.
A flurry of activity was seen outside the actor’s residence, with media and officials arriving at the scene. The actor was cited shortly after, a source cited the ANI news agency.
Previously, the NCB had arrested Agisilaos Demetriades, brother of Rampal’s girlfriend Gabriella. Reports suggest that Agisilaos was part of a drug syndicate linked to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The NCB believes that Agisilaos was in contact with drug suppliers who allegedly had connections to Sushant’s girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty.
Rhea was arrested and later released on bail by the agency, after spending nearly a month in jail on charges of purchasing drugs for Sushant.
