Are you traveling to the United Arab Emirates? Check Mandatory Requirements for Covid-19 Negative RT PCR Test


Are you planning to travel to the United Arab Emirates during the coronavirus pandemic? Air India Express has enforced the requirement of a valid negative Covid-19 test report for passengers traveling to the UAE. This is mandatory for passengers over 12 years old. AI Express has also said that the test report must be present in printed form, from a government approved laboratory in India (ICMR / designated laboratory verified).

“Things to be aware of by passengers traveling to the UAE regarding the COVID-19 RT-PCR test,” Air India Express tweeted.

These are the mandatory requirements for the negative Covid-19 RT-PCR medical test

1) Negative Covid-19 RT-PCR Medical Test Result should only be obtained from ICMR / PURE HEALTH / MICRO HEALTH accredited laboratories.

2) The test results must be issued, duly signed and stamped on the original letterhead of the test laboratory.

3) The test result must not be handwritten or have corrections.

4) Photocopies of the results will not be accepted.

5) The mandatory 96-hour time period starts from the moment the swab was collected for testing.

6) Currently, the true NAT / CB-NAAT methodology is not accepted. Only nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal smear test analyzed by real-time RT-PCR (open system) is accepted.

Currently, India has mandated a seven-day institutional quarantine and a seven-day home quarantine for passengers arriving in the country on international flights, but has exempted those who present a negative certificate from a RT- test.
