Apple’s online store will provide customers with the same premium experience found at Apple Store locations around the world, provided by members of the online team who are ready to deliver their experience, Apple said in a statement.
Such offers include direct customer support, trade-in or exchange offers for used smartphones and iPhones, student discounts, contactless delivery, and more.
Until now, Apple sold its products in India through third-party sellers and online marketplaces such as Flipkart and Amazon. In a major push toward single-brand retail, the government last year relaxed foreign direct investment (FDI) guidelines, offering players more flexibility in local sourcing rules.
In February, Apple CEO Tim Cook had said the company would launch its online store in India later this year, while its first physical retail store will open in the country in 2021.
Here is a summary of all the offers and services that Apple Store India will provide:
Direct customer service:
The online Apple Store will now allow people to buy Apple products and interact with Apple specialists available online to help with services such as custom Mac settings to configure new devices.
Customers can get advice, receive guidance and learn about new products directly from Apple, in both English and Hindi, Apple said in a previous statement.
Redemption options:
Apple’s online store will also allow trade-in options for its iPhone models. This basically means that customers can now exchange any smartphone or credit for a new iPhone available on the site.
To do this, you will first have to select the iPhone model you want to buy, answer a few simple questions about your existing smartphone, and the store will provide you with a trade-in value of up to Rs. 35,000 that can be used to reduce the price of a new iPhone. Customers will have to pay the remaining value in full or EMI to complete their purchase.
Apple also clarified that trade-in values will vary based on the state, year, and configuration of your trade-in device and are calculated on top of the maximum retail price. “You must be at least 18 years old to be eligible to trade. Not all devices are eligible. Trade-in values are conditional on the device received matching the details you provided when estimating and subsequent verification at pickup. the right to refuse or limit the quantity of any device for any reason, “the company said in a statement.
Student discounts:
Apple also offers student discounts where students can purchase Mac or iPad models at special discounted prices, as well as take advantage of accessory discounts and the company’s extended warranty program, AppleCare +.
These discounts are only for current and newly accepted college students, their parents, as well as faculty and staff.

Apple offers various offers on payment modes on its site. You can pay by credit and debit card, EMI credit card, RuPay, UPI, Net Banking and cash on delivery credit card.

All orders from the Apple Store online will ship with contactless delivery, according to the statement.
Orders that do not require a signature will be left at the customer’s door, and those that do require a signature will only need a verbal confirmation from a safe distance rather than a written signature.
