With the launch of the Apple iPhone 12 series just around the corner, a number of reports and leaks have started to appear online. The latter comes with some bad news from the last minute, as the next iPhone 12 model could be dubbed the iPhone 12 mini and could possibly be the least powerful phone in the next line.
B14 apple chip
They have a midrange chip ready 👀
I don’t know if it’s the battery-saving but less powerful A14 I’ve leaked before, or a brand new chip
Maybe for the iPhone 12 Mini? SE2 Plus? SE3? I dont know
I’ve had it for months

The iPhone 12 model in question is the 5.4-inch model that would apparently house a new mid-range chip called the Apple B14 SoC. This news was first shared by MauriQHD on Twitter and a Tom’sGuide report, which details that the iPhone 12 mini will have an “A14 that saves battery but is less powerful.” However, this is still an unconfirmed report and the source indicated that this chip could be seen later in the iPhone SE Plus or iPhone SE 3.

In particular, the use of a less powerful energy-efficient chip could also mean that the iPhone 12 mini would be a bit more affordable than previously speculated. While previous reports had suggested that the next phone will be more expensive than the base iPhone 11 due to the addition of 5G support, the iPhone 12 mini could skip the newer and faster bandwidth and adopt a similar price to the iPhone. 11 of the latest generation.
If this is true, then the 6.1-inch variant could be the actual base model of the iPhone 12 and would be the true successor to the iPhone 11. Although, the rumor comes pretty close to launch. I mean, in general we would have already heard more about the new chip. Nothing is certain at the moment though, so take this report with a pinch of salt and keep an eye out for more updates, which should be coming soon.
