In response to an assembly discussion on Covid-19 and other health initiatives being taken by the state government, the CM stated that, according to the centre’s guidelines, 3.6 lakh from health workers will be the first priority to receive the vaccine, followed by 7 lakh from front-line staff from other departments and 90 lakh from people over 50. Consequently, he said, the Health Department is preparing for the vaccination program.
The Chief Minister announced that about 4,065 cold chain facilities will store the vaccine at a temperature between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius. The government has kept 29 refrigerated vehicles ready to transport the vaccine, which will be administered to the population of one million million inhabitants in 19,000 ANM. He asked the health authorities to also train Asha workers on how to inject the vaccine into people.
Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the AP has a population of 6 million rupees. Until all people are vaccinated, he advised people to follow necessary precautionary measures, such as wearing a mask, maintaining social distance, washing hands with disinfectants, and protecting themselves from becoming infected with Coronavirus.
A state level steering committee headed by the chief secretary and state, district and mandal level working groups is being established to implement and monitor the vaccination program in accordance with the stipulated Standard Operating Procedures.
Referring to the increase in the number of positive Covid-19 cases due to the prevalence of cold weather conditions, the CM noted that countries like the UK, France, Italy, and states like New Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are witnessing from this. phenomenon.
The CM paused extensively on how skeletal the infrastructure was in state hospitals when the coronavirus began to spread in March 2019. There was not a single lab available to test Covid-19 in the early days. Since then, the state government has established 150 laboratories and has so far tested 1.02 crore. Andhra Pradesh ranked first in the country with 1.91,568 tests per million population. The positive rate for coronavirus has dropped to 8.51 percent on average from 16 percent previously. The death rate has dropped to 0.81 percent from the previous 1.46 percent by providing all necessary medical care to people infected with the virus.
The Chief Minister pointed out that even now, a set of six doses of Remdesivir injections are available at each of the Covid-19 hospitals, in addition to 17,000 Tocilizumab injections at all district headquarters hospitals in the state for the treatment of infected patients.
CM Jagan announced the renovation of all health infrastructure in the state, in addition to establishing 16 new medical colleges in addition to the 11 existing universities in AP at a cost of Rs. 16,000 crore in the next three years.
