In addition to establishing eight RT-PCR laboratories in various parts of the state, the state extended its test footprint through Truenat machines and will now be conducted with the rapid antibody test and IgG and IgM chemiluminescent immunoassay tests (CLIA ). The state had the capacity to test only 90 samples per day when the first laboratory became functional on February 15. The state temporarily suspended rapid antibody tests after the Indian Council for Medical Research asked states to do so.
Meanwhile, the state health department ordered officials to offer treatment to Covid-19 patients, age 60 and older, only at Covid’s five state hospitals.
