2021 CBSE Board Exams: Anxious Students Ask Officials to Make a Decision Soon

New Delhi:

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not yet released the dates for the CBSE Board exams for classes 10 and 12 that will be held next year. In one of their latest announcements, CBSE officials said the exams can be done in written mode, although a final decision has yet to be made. For this reason, students have been raising queries on various social media platforms.

To address student concerns, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal will host a live discussion with students and parents on December 10. The minister shared #EducationMinisterGoesLive on Twitter, forming a common online platform for students, teachers, parents, and officials to discuss the upcoming CBSE Board and other competitive exams.

Students have been asking various questions related to CBSE exam dates, schedule, syllabus, CBSE date sheet, and online testing mode.

According to the CBSE curriculum, students in class 12 are often required to submit annual projects, which are assessed in their final CBSE board exams. For the same, multiple meetings with the mentor are required, and a live session is held to examine students’ work. Although, due to online classes, this year the same has not been possible.

One Twitter user writes: “Sir Project’s work for class 12 must be canceled and the time saved must be devoted to physical classes. Sir, we need at least 3 months of offline classes to be well prepared for the CBSE exams ”.

Additionally, no practical classes were held for upper secondary students this year due to the pandemic, with students complaining that they are not equipped with practical knowledge.

Another Twitter user complained about the practical exams, for which he did not receive adequate training.

“We don’t know what to do in practice, how we are supposed to do it, cancel practical exams and meetings. It cannot be done on the spot, ”said the user.

Students have also faced difficulties in online classes, due to poor internet connectivity.

“It is the condition of our 12th Online Accounting class. How can we prepare for our exams like this one. It is my humble request to the minister of education and the CBSE to postpone the exams until May or June so that we can prepare for the exams, ”wrote one user while complaining about the online classes.
