Actress Anushka Sharma was back on trend one day after legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar made a nasty comment about her. Gavaskar was part of the commentary team as the Royal Challengers Bangalore, led by Virat Kohli, lost to Kings XI Punjab on Thursday night and the Indian captain was not up to the challenge.
In the comment box, Gavaskar came up with a comment about Virat’s actor’s wife, Anushka. The comment was in bad taste and did not sit well with the fans of the Indian patron. Amid calls for the BCCI to remove Gavaskar from the comment panel, the internet brought up a statement Anushka had previously issued to dismiss claims of favoritism and tacky trolling.
In the statement, the actor had denied all the lies against him, starting with how Virat’s performance was attributed to him. Over the years, in quite a few cases, the Bollywood actress has been blamed every time Kohli, now 31, performed poorly on the cricket field. “I have kept quiet every time I was blamed for the performance of my then boyfriend, now husband Virat, and I am still to blame for the most unfounded things related to Indian cricket. Then I was silent, ”she had written. Anushka and Virat are expecting their first child together.
He also explained why he had spoken then: “Today. I have decided to speak because someone’s silence cannot be taken as their weakness. I am not and will not be a pawn to be used for anyone’s thoughts, beliefs or agendas and the next time you want to use my name to discredit someone or the council or even my husband, do it with facts and evidence and leave me OUT of that. “
On Thursday Kohli, arguably one of the best when it comes to chasing, missed with the bat, hitting just a five-ball run against Kings XI Punjab here Thursday night. Kohli dropped his KXIP counterpart, KL Rahul, twice: once in the over at 17 on the deep square leg when he was hitting at 83 and then again at 18 when he was at 89. KXIP’s pattern then he broke some records on the way to a 132 of 69 balls, the highest ever scored by an Indian in an IPL game.
