A young woman from Andhra Pradesh drowned after accidentally slipping and falling from a waterfall in the United States. The woman is reported to have slipped while taking a selfie with her fiancé.
Polavarapu Kamala and her money had made a stop at Bald River Falls as they returned home after visiting relatives in Atlanta. The couple reportedly slipped and fell from the waterfall while taking a selfie.
While the man was rescued, Ms. Kamala was reportedly found unconscious near a log. Rescuers performed prolonged CPR, but were unable to resuscitate her.
Ms. Kamala, who was from Gudlavaleru in the Krishna district, had left for the United States after completing her graduation. I was working with a software company.
“He graduated with an engineering degree and went to the United States to continue his studies. He even found a job,” said his mother.
Efforts are now being made to return the body to India. “The Telugu Association has said that they will help bring the body home,” her father said. Kamala’s younger sister is married and based in Chennai.
