Andhra’s heartwarming photo of father on duty greeting DSP’s daughter goes viral

The father and daughter duo, stationed in different districts, were reunited on duty when they attended the Andhra Pradesh state police duty meeting in Tirupati.

What happened on Sunday in Tirupati of Andhra Pradesh brought to tears not only a father-daughter duo working in the state police force, but also everyone who witnessed the moving incident.

It was a proud moment for Circle Inspector Y Shyam Sundar when he greeted his daughter, Yendluru Jessy Prasanthi, who currently holds the position of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the Guntur district. Both are in Tirupati to attend the Andhra Pradesh state police service meeting entitled ‘Ignite’, which will be held there from January 4-7.

Speaking to TNM, Guntur’s DSP said she did not feel very comfortable when she noticed her father greeting her. “This is the first time we have met on duty. I wasn’t very comfortable with him greeting me, after all, he is my father. I asked him not to say hi, but it happened. I also returned my greeting, ”he said.

Jessy, who hails from the 2018 group, came face to face with her father for the first time while on duty since joining the department.

“My father is my biggest inspiration. I grew up watching him serve people relentlessly. He has helped many people in whatever way he could. That is what made me choose this department. I have a very positive outlook towards the department ”, shared the DSP.

A similar situation was witnessed in 2018 in neighboring Telugu state when former Deputy Police Commissioner AR Uma Maheshwara Sarma greeted his daughter Sindhu Sarma, who held the post of Police Superintendent in the Jagtial district of Telangana. Sindhu is a 2014 Indian Police Service officer. The daughter and father had met face to face while on duty at a public gathering organized by TRS on the outskirts of Hyderabad. A photo of the touching moment of the father greeting the daughter had gone viral at the time.
