How will the domestic flight operations of change in India as the world continues to fight against the new coronavirus? A complete guide on the new rules issued by the Civil Aviation Ministry.

The government has issued detailed guidelines for airlines, airports, passengers and other interested parties prior to the resumption of the domestic commercial passenger flights from the 25 of May.

While the ministry said that it will prescribe lower and the upper limit of the air passages, and asked the passengers to report at the airport two hours before your flight and the scheduled departure time. The Civil Aviation Ministry added that only those who have done web check-in will be allowed to enter the terminal building.

Here is a detailed list of the rules announced by the ministry of aviation

From the point of Origin to the Airport

  • Become familiar with the new procedures, especially about the rules of social distancing, minimum touch, baggage limitations, Covid-I9 statement, digital payments
  • Do not travel if you stay in a containment zone
  • Register at Aarogya respective eras of the application.
  • Avoid the last-minute arrival at the airport. Report two hours in advance of flight time
  • Ensure the web check-in, get the boarding pass
  • Print the luggage tag and affix it to the bag in a prominent place. In the event that you are unable to make an impression, write the PNR and the passenger name on a piece of paper and stick it in the bag
  • Download luggage tag with an identification number
  • During the transport to the airport, take all precautions to prevent infection

NOTE: In the initial stage, a passenger may carry only one hand luggage and one check-in. Carry minimum luggage such as the use of the carts will be allowed in moderation

Permission to travel only after a declaration made by the passenger. In the case of a NRP to have more than one passenger, the declaration should be for all passengers that is mentioned in the PNR

When You Arrive At The Airport

  • Before you enter the terminal, make sure that you are using the protective equipment.
  • The mask is mandatory during all the trip
  • Walking towards thermal sensing centre, near the entry door.
  • Get yourself checked for the temperature. Get your health status checked through the Aarogya respective eras application or a self-declaration form
  • Children below 14 years of age will be exempted
  • Once selected, move to the CISF counter at the entrance of the control point. Show the identity card, boarding pass/e-boarding pass
  • Proceed to the baggage drop counter
  • At the baggage drop-off, display the PNR and identification to the staff. After checking the baggage tag, the staff will accept. Electronic slip will be sent to you via SMS
  • Complete check-in procedure and baggage drop at least 60 minutes prior to departure

Security check:

  • The agreements made at the airports to guide passengers to walk through the pre-boarding security control.

From the Airport to the destination

  • Follow the instructions and do not rush to the exit door
  • The Social distance and the sanitation must be maintained at the arrival gate
  • Wait near the cellar of the area until the arrival of the luggage
  • Transit passengers may not leave the transit area

How to get out of the airport

  • The use of the stops authorized maintenance as prescribed to the hygiene protocols
  • Follow the social distancing and hygiene while travelling back to your destination
