“Once again, the rule of law, our Constitution and the will of the people prevailed in the United States,” Biden said. “Our democracy pushed, tested, threatened, proved resilient, true and strong.”
In his speech, Biden attested to the fact that Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris received more votes “than any ballot in the history of the United States has received.”
American democracy, unflappable
“The flame of democracy was lit in this nation a long time ago. And now we know that nothing, not even a pandemic, or an abuse of power, can put out that flame.”
“If someone didn’t know before, we know now. What beats deep in the heart of the American people is this: democracy, ”said the president-elect, referring to the legal recourse that led the Trump campaign to the results of the 2020 elections.
“The right to be heard. For your vote to be counted. Elect the leaders of this nation. Govern ourselves. In the United States, politicians do not take power, people grant it to them ”.
