Actor Amitabh Bachchan on Saturday shared his memories of the two versatile actors Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor who passed away in quick succession recently and raised the question of why the loss of a “younger celebrity” is more tragic.

“Because you regret the loss of opportunities in the latter, unrealized possibilities,” wrote Amitabh Bachchan, answering his own question. The 77-year-old actor took to Instagram and shared a collage of two notable actors who died last week.

The first of three images in the collage showed a photo of Piku where Big B is seen offering Irrfan something to eat, while Khan is seen laughing. The second image shows Irrfan kissing Bachchan’s cheek as they hug, and the third features a black and white image of “Loving Akbar, Anthony” capturing Amitabh and the late star Rishi Kapoor hugging.

The star of “The Bullies of Hindostan” wrote: “The death of an older celebrity versus the death of a young man … the pain of the latter is more intense than that of the former … why …? younger more tragic. Why the loss of the young seems more tragic than that of the older. Because you regret the loss of opportunities in the latter … unrealized possibilities. “

Rishi Kapoor died Thursday morning after a two-year battle with leukemia, his family said in a statement. In September 2019, the veteran actor returned to Mumbai after staying in New York for nearly a year to receive cancer treatment.

Irrfan died at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday after fighting a neuroendocrine tumor. He was 53 years old. Khan was last seen on screen on Angrezi Medium. He was not part of the film’s promotions due to his poor health.

He was regarded as a good actor by fans and critics alike with critically acclaimed films like The Lunchbox and Paan Singh Tomar.
