“I am completely healthy and have no disease,” Shah said in a tweet in Hindi.
Several social media users have recently speculated about Shah’s health.
“In recent days, rumors have spread on social media about my health,” Shah’s message said. “Some users came to make wishes after tweeting about my death.”
Shah said that since the country is currently busy battling a public health crisis such as the coronavirus, he did not initially realize such rumors because, as the country’s interior minister, he was busy working late into the night.
Shah further said that when he learned of these rumors, he initially refused to clarify, but was forced to clarify the air later when party workers and supporters, in the past two days, asked about his health.
“That is why I want to clarify today: I am completely healthy and do not suffer from any disease,” Shah said.
The main BJP leader expressed his gratitude to his supporters and the party who had asked about his health.
