Amit Shah and JP Nadda will visit Bengal almost every month

Union Interior Minister Amit Shah and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chairman JP Nadda will visit West Bengal separately every month until the assembly elections, to be held in the state next year, to boost worker morale, BJP leaders said Wednesday as the party begins its strategy on the state of the poll.

“Amit Shah and JP Nadda are expected to visit the state separately each month for at least two days until the assembly elections are over. The dates have not yet been finalized. His regular visits will boost the morale of the workers, ”West Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh told the media in Kolkata.

To fine-tune its strategy, the BJP also appointed central leaders to oversee the preparation of elections in five organizational zones into which the party has divided the state. Top party leaders said that according to their reports, the central party leaders in Delhi will prepare a final battle plan for the state.

Senior leaders Sunil Deodhar, Dushyant Gautam, Harish Dwivedi, Vinod Sonkar and Vinod Tawde, who have been appointed observers for each of the five organizational zones, will camp in their respective zones: North Bengal, Rarh Banga (Southwest Districts), Nabadwip. , Midnapore and Kolkata, until Friday to write the reports.

“It will basically be a SWOT [strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats] analysis. This is the first time that central observers have been sent to assess the preparation for elections in the zones. In the past, central leaders used to be appointed as observers for an entire state, ”said a BJP leader familiar with the plan.

Senior leaders said an analysis of the party’s strengths and weaknesses, at the cabin level, becomes even more important because in the midst of a pandemic, the Election Commission of India is likely to increase the number of auxiliary cabins to maintain the Covid-19 protocols.

The West Bengal assembly elections are likely to be held in April-May 2021.

Kailash Vijayvargiya is the state in charge of the BJP, while the party’s national secretary, Arvind Menon, and Amit Malviya, the head of the party’s IT cell, are complicit.

The ruling Trinamool state Congress mocked the BJP on Wednesday, saying the party has lost faith in its state leaders and is calling on central leaders to intervene.

“The central leaders of the BJP are intervening. This clearly indicates that the party has lost faith in state leadership. However, the party still dreams of winning the elections. It’s not bad to dream, ”said TMC MP Saugata Roy.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the BJP won 18 of the state’s 42 electoral districts in its best performance in a contest that was marred by political assassinations and violence. It also obtained 40.2% of the votes cast. The TMC obtained 22 seats and 43.3% of the votes.

During his two-day visit to the state on November 5-6, Interior Minister Shah held a meeting with party workers and reviewed the preparation for the elections. He also expressed his confidence that the BJP would form the next government in the state.

“The BJP has an even chance in the next election. The scenario will clear up in the next two to three months as situations unfold. But it is a fact that the BJP, over the years, has become the main opposition party and this time they are looking for the Bengal ballot boxes, ”said Amal Mukherjee, political commentator and former head of Presidency College.
