AGRA: PM Modi on Monday he said development reforms are needed and some laws since the last century they have become a burden now. He said this when inaugurating the construction of Agra Railway metro project through videoconference.
“The reforms are very necessary for a new order and to provide new facilities. We cannot build the next century with the laws of the previous century, ”he said.
“Reforms must be an ongoing process,” the prime minister said, adding that his government is carrying out “holistic reforms.” “Previously, reforms used to occur in a piecemeal fashion, or taking into account some sectors and departments,” said the prime minister.
Modi’s statements came in the middle of the dispute agricultural laws destined to bring important changes in the agribusiness sector. The prime minister said that one of the main problems faced by the country’s infrastructure sector previously was that when new projects were announced, not much attention was paid to how they would be financed. He added that his government now ensures the availability of funds at the start of a new project. The prime minister said that reforms carried out in the recent past have instilled self-confidence in the country. “This confidence has been seen in every election in the recent past,” he said.
The prime minister said that efforts are being made to attract investment from around the world to improve the country’s infrastructure.
