The company said that about 91% of the new customers came from smaller cities and many chose to access the sale in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
On EMI trends, he said that more than 3.5 lakh of phones were sold. Also, three out of four EMI buyers were from Tier 2 and 3 cities. “… one in three ACs and refrigerators was purchased at EMI, one in three OnePlus and OPPO smartphones was purchased at EMI,” he said. .
Amazon said that smartphones remain a popular category, with many purchases for the iPhone 11, Redmi Note Series, Redmi 9A, OnePlus 8T, OnePlus Nord, and Samsung Galaxy M31 Prime Edition. “The total number of iPhones sold on Amazon.in in one day was more than the total number of iPhones sold in the entire holiday sales period last year,” he said.
Popular appliances included fully automatic front and top loading washers, direct cooling refrigerators, air conditioners, microwave ovens and dishwashers. The best-selling electronic products were laptops, headphones, tablets, cameras, and smart watches.
