Amazon Receives Court Notice About Its Challenge To Future Group Dependency Agreement

On Monday, the Delhi High Court suspended a single judge’s order preventing Future Retail Ltd from going ahead with its 24,713 crore settlement with Reliance Retail to sell its business, which was challenged by the based e-commerce giant in the US, Amazon.

A bank in the division of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jasmeet Singh also issued a notice to Amazon on Future Group’s appeal challenging the single judge’s March 18 ruling on the deal.

The court listed the matter for an additional hearing on April 30.

It also suspended the sole judge’s order requesting the seizure of Kishore Biyani’s assets of Future Group and others and ordering them to appear in court on April 28.

The single judge’s order came in the wake of Amazon’s petition seeking instructions to order enforcement of the award by the Singapore Emergency Arbitrator on October 25, 2020, preventing Future Retail from going ahead with its settlement. of Rs 24,713 crore with Reliance Retail.
