“Just as all Punjabis know that I am not someone who is intimidated by any amount of fake erectile dysfunction or other cases, they also know that you will sell your soul if it serves your purpose,” Amarinder said, in response to Kejriwal’s statement.
Challenging his Delhi counterpart to cite even a single case in which he (Amarinder) backed down under pressure from ED or any other agency, Punjab’s chief minister pointed out that from Operation Bluestar to SYL and now to the issue of farm laws, it always had. the right thing to do on the part of his people, in stark contrast to Kejriwal, who had all seen Punjab cower in fear of a petty defamation case and all of Delhi had seen the Center ask for help amid the pandemic.
Claiming that the whole world had seen how Kejriwal had sold farmers’ interests by notifying one of the black agricultural laws in the national capital at a time when farmers were preparing to march to Delhi, Captain Amarinder said that the chief minister Delhi had set their own “stage” with the central government with this act.
“Why did you do that, Kejriwal? What pressure did the Center have on you? Or is it so you can go back to humbling yourself with them the next time your pathetic government falters to handle the Covid crisis, as you have done twice already? Amarinder asked Kejriwal, accusing the national AAP convener of his endless saga of lies.
‘The head of the AAP is with the Center’
Accusing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of being the ‘B’ team of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), leaders of the Punjab Pradesh Congressional Committee (PPCC) on Monday criticized Arvind Kejriwal for “colluding with the Center” in agricultural laws and act under their dictates to defame the image of Congress. Congressional MPs Manish Tiwari, Ravneet Bittu and Jasbir Singh Dimpa skinned Kejriwal for “committing fraud on farmers by implementing one of Delhi’s vicious central farmers laws”
Congress rally in Shambhu
The head of the Punjab Congress, Sunil Jakhar, said on Monday that the BJP-led Center, instead of making amendments, should scrap the three recent farm laws with immediate effect, as it had now agreed that they had many flaws. Addressing a protest rally at the Shambhu barrier, he said the Center should restore the rights of states and, under the provisions of the Constitution, allow states to enact laws on the issues in the state. He said that defending the basic spirit of the Constitution, without violating it, was the need of the moment.
‘Sidhu will soon be in the cabinet’
The head of the Punjab Congress, Harish Rawat, said that the Congress would point out the farmers’ problems and was proud to support the farmers. Responding to a media inquiry, he said that talks between Navjot Singh Sidhu and Captain Amarinder Singh were already underway, and that Sidhu could soon return to cabinet.
‘Give Rs 10 lakh to grieving families’
The Gidderbaha Amrinder Singh Raja Warring MLA Congress, at the protest, called on the Punjab government to provide 10 lakh rupees as compensation and a job to the relatives of all farmers who will be “martyred” during the Delhi border turmoil. He said he would provide compensation on his own if the government was unable to do so.
