All villages will have high-speed internet in three years, says PM Modi at IMC 2020: Key Points


NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday he went to Mobile Congress of India (IMC) 2020 via videoconference. In his inaugural address, the Prime Minister emphasized the momentum of India’s digital technology and stated that the nation is emerging as the preferred location for manufacturing mobile devices.
He also mentioned that India has the lowest mobile rate with the fastest growing app market.

* IMC 2020 has been organized by the Telecom department and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).
* The theme of IMC 2020 is “Inclusive Innovation: Smart, Safe, Sustainable” and aims to align with the prime minister’s vision of promoting “Atmanirbhar Bharat”, “digital inclusion” and “sustainable development, entrepreneurship and innovation”.
* It also aims to boost foreign and local investment, foster research and development in the emerging technology and telecommunications sectors, the PMO said.
* IMC 2020 was attended by various ministries, CEOs of telecommunications, global CEOs and domain experts in 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of things (IoT), data analytics, cloud and edge computing , blockchain, cybersecurity, smart cities and Automation.
