Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) said on Saturday that it had put together various measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus, adding that its Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) is ready for operations.

While the central government has not yet set a date for the resumption of flight operations, airports across India, boasting an early announcement, have already implemented various measures and are ready to receive passengers.
On Saturday, Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) said it had put together various measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus, adding that its Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) is ready to operate.
India Today TV learned that airport officials have formulated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for passenger safety. In addition to the continuous sanitation of the spaces and the maintenance of social distancing regulations, post-closure measures will also include mandatory thermal detection.
The airport will also establish temporary quarantine centers at both terminals.
Publish the government announcing a date for the resumption of domestic and international flight services, this is what passengers can expect at Mumbai International Airport:
1. Distinctive marks on both terminals
2. The markings will be on the entrance door, check-in counters, self-check-in kiosks, security checkpoints, food courts, rest area and boarding area, among others.
3. Passengers will maintain a distance of 1.5 meters between them.
4. Arrangements for seating in the food court and terminal building have been reorganized.
5. The evaluation will be carried out before someone enters the terminal building
6. Those who show symptoms will be immediately transferred to the quarantine facilities.
7. Hand sanitizers will be at all contact points.
8. Airport staff will assist passengers with the boarding copy.
Speaking to India Today TV, a MIAL spokesperson said: “We are all prepared to welcome passengers. The airport will operate as usual, with additional prevention and precautionary measures to be followed for our own safety. We are confident that passengers are equally excited to take the flight to the respective destinations as before. “
In addition to these measures, passengers are expected to wear masks and hand gloves for the entire duration of the flight.
The Mumbai airport spokesperson said the airport cleaning staff has been well trained to ensure effective cleaning procedures and to disinfect and disinfect the terminal buildings, including important places like elevator buttons, escalators and immigration counters .
In the initial stages of resuming operations, the Mumbai airport will be operating with 50 percent of its total staff in accordance with directives from the Government of India.
