“All of India prays for our former Prime Minister”: Leaders want Manmohan Singh’s speedy recovery

Leaders of all party lines prayed for the prompt recovery of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh after he was admitted to Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Sunday night for fever and chest pain.

Singh’s office on Sunday night confirmed that he had been admitted, but stressed that he was fine.

“He is fine. He was taken to the hospital because he had a fever due to the side effect of the medication administered yesterday. He is under observation,” the former prime minister’s office said.

The 87-year-old veteran congressional leader was brought to AIIMS around 8:45 p.m. A hospital source said the former prime minister was admitted to the cardiovascular neuroscience (CNS) tower.

Delhi Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal said in a tweet: “Deeply concerned about the health of Dr. Manmohan Singh ji. I hope he will make a full recovery soon. All of India is praying for our former Prime Minister.”

The head of the Congress party in Karnataka, DK Shivakumar, said: “Deeply concerned about the health of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Together with more than a billion Indians we wish him a speedy recovery and I pray for his good health and his long life “.

Senior congressional leader Shashi Tharoor also wished the former prime minister a full recovery. “Concerned about reports that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was admitted to AIIMS in Delhi, but relieved that he is not in the ICU and is in good hands. Wishing you a quick and full recovery, ”Tharoor tweeted.
