In a new video shared on Twitter, Akshay Kumar finally broke his silence on the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and the investigation into an alleged drug problem in Bollywood. He admitted that drug use is a problem in the film industry, but asked everyone not to see the entire industry as a bed of vice.
Speaking in Hindi, Akshay said in the video: “Today I speak to you with a heavy heart. In the last few weeks, I wanted to say a few things, but there was so much negativity all over the place that I couldn’t figure out what to say, how much to say and who to say it to. Although they call us ‘stars’, it is you (the public) who have made Bollywood what it is, with your love. We are not just an industry; Through films, we have promoted the values and culture of India in all corners of the world. Movies have tried to portray the feelings of the people of our country, however you have felt it, all these years. Be it the rage of the angry young man, corruption or unemployment, the cinema has tried to highlight these themes in its own way. So today, if your feelings are angry, we accept that anger. “

Akshay said that several issues have come to light after Sushant’s death, which have forced the industry to introspect and look at what is happening in its own backyard. “After the sudden death of Sushant Singh Rajput, many problems came to light that hurt us as much as you. These problems forced us to look at what is happening in our own backyard. It forced us to examine many ills of the film industry, which need to be analyzed. Like, now they talk about narcotics and drugs. I cannot lie to you and tell you that this problem does not exist. It definitely does, just as it should exist in all industries and professions. However, it cannot be that all people in all industries are involved in the problem. How is that possible? “, I ask.
“Drug use is a legal matter and I am confident that any action taken by our law enforcement agencies and courts will be absolutely correct. I also know that all members of the film industry will cooperate fully in the investigation. But please, I implore you with folded hands, don’t look at the entire industry in the same polluted light. That is not correct, ”he added.
Akshay also called on the media to report sensitively, as they had the power to destroy someone’s hard-earned reputation in seconds. “Personally, I have always believed in the power of the media. If our media does not capture the right issues at the right time, many people will not find a voice and justice will not be served. I ask the media to continue to raise their voices, but please maintain a certain sensitivity because negative news can destroy the reputation of someone whose construction took years of hard work, “he said.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) stumbled upon Bollywood’s alleged drug nexus while investigating the drugs angle in Sushant’s death. So far, several Bollywood celebrities have been questioned, including Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and Rakul Preet Singh.
