ETAWAH: Hinting at a possible electoral tie with your estranged uncle’s Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party For him Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday he said that Shivpal Yadav will receive a cabinet post if his party forms the government in the state.
However, he made it clear that the Samajwadi Party (SP) will not enter into any electoral alliance with the leaders led by Mayawati. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
“The adjustment will be made with smaller parties, but there will be no alliance with larger parties,” Akhilesh Yadav told reporters here.
Asked whether the SP will form an electoral alliance with his uncle Shivpal Yadav’s Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party, he said: “We will adjust that party as well. Jaswantnagar is his seat (Shivpal Yadav’s) and the Samajwadi Party vacated the seat for him. In the near future, we will make your leader a cabinet minister, and what further adjustment is needed?
Elections to the Legislative Assembly in Uttar Pradesh are scheduled for February-March 2022.
Shivpal Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav’s estranged uncle, was elected from the Jaswantnagar assembly constituency in the 2017 state elections.
He later launched a new political party, Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia), and it was contested in 2019 Lok Sabha elections in its symbol of Firozabad.
Accusing the BJP of using a “hoax” to defeat the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ (led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal) in the recently concluded Bihar assembly elections, Akhilesh Yadav said: “The maximum public support was seen in the Mahagathbandhan rallies and all the polls hinted at a historic victory for him. But, when the EVMs were opened for vote counting, the results stopped in the middle and the certificates of victory were given to someone else. ”
When asked about the performance of the SP in the recent elections held in seven assembly seats in the UP, Akhilesh Yadav said: “When elections are contested by election officials, police superintendents, additional district magistrates, the SHOs and the bossy police, then win. ”
“The BJP was not contesting the elections but its government officials,” he added.
The head of the SP attacked the BJP government and said that corruption and injustice have become rampant in the state.
“If someone insults the people and gives them trouble, he will overthrow that government when he gets the chance,” he said.
Several leaders and workers from Congress and the BSP joined the SP in the presence of Akhilesh Yadav on the occasion.
Uniting the leaders of other parties will strengthen the SP, Akhilesh Yadav said.
