AK vs AK promotions in recent weeks have revolved around the director-actor’s tense history of unfulfilled projects in real life. Before becoming widely popular with movies like Dev D, the Gangs of Wasseypur series, and the recent Netflix series Sacred Games, Anurag Kashyap wanted to make two movies, Allwyn Kallicharan and Grant Hotel, with Anil Kapoor.
Both projects were unable to materialize due to factors beyond his control, but it complicated his personal equation as Kashyap admitted that he used to blame Kapoor for the films not being made.
Anurag Kashyap told PTI that it was okay for Anil Kapoor to criticize him on screen as he had gotten used to it due to the incessant trolling he has faced on social media over the years. “I felt comfortable a long time ago because I have had a lot of trolls and criticism for the type of movies I make. So I am quite used to it. These days, I get very excited when someone praises my work. A character from a Sooraj Barjatya movie.” , said.
