Ajay Singh, popularly known as Tiger Pop, was announced as the winner of the Best Dancer from India award on Sunday. The young man from Gurugram took home the trophy, a cash prize of 15 lakh rupees and a stylish Maruti car. His choreographer Vartika Jha also received a check for Rs 5 lakh.
Besides Tiger Pop, the other finalists were Mukul Gain, Shweta Warrier, Paramdeep Singh, and Subhranil Paul.
On the show, Tiger Pop, known for his unique “pop style” dance moves, had shared that it was his mother’s dream to see him accomplish a feat like this. Ecstatic to win the title of Best Dancer in India, he said in a statement: “I am more than happy to have won the coveted title of Best Dancer in India. I can’t believe my childhood dream of being on a platform as Best Dancer in India and winning it came true today. The whole journey of being in India’s Best Dancer, from my first audition, to my first battle, to being paired with a choreographer like Vartika Jha, performing and learning something new week after week has been surreal. Being here on this stage made me realize that flattery cannot be taken for granted. You have to work hard to earn it. “
He also thanked the judges for keeping everyone grounded and being an inspiration to everyone.
Judge Malaika Arora shared: “I am very, very happy that Tiger Pop is the winner of our first season. Tiger is brilliant at what he does, and I think the audience has given their verdict on that. They love him and he really deserves the success he has achieved today. “

The finale also featured Dharmesh Yelande, Raghav Juyal, Pooja Sawant, Sushant Singh, Priya Anand, Amit Sial, Sukirti Kandpal and Aashay Mishra. While judges Geeta Kapur, Terence Lewis and Malaika Arora showcased their dancing skills, Krushna Abhishek, in his inimitable way, infused the finale with fun and laughter.
The Best Dancer in India was hosted by Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiya. Indian Idol 12 will occupy the show’s schedule starting next weekend.
