Air Chief conducts sortie on indigenous light combat helicopter


Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria launched his maiden flight on Friday on the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) designed and developed here the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH).

The plane took off at 11:45 a.m. and stayed in the air for an hour, HAL said in a statement.

The Air Chief of Staff was accompanied by HAL Deputy Chief Test Pilot, Wg Cdr (Retd) SP John.

“It was a very good start. I was able to observe the important flight characteristics and the status of the sensors already installed.

The LCH is a powerful platform due to the excellent D&D efforts and the well supported flight test team, ”said the Air Chief while thanking all stakeholders of the LCH project.

The IAF was eagerly awaiting the aircraft’s induction, he said.

“I am confident that HAL will focus on production at a rapid pace,” he added.

R Madhavan, CMD, HAL, thanked the Air Chief and said that HAL was prepared for LCH production to meet all Air Force requirements, according to the statement.
