Zameer’s eldest son told the media that Ahmed has been brandishing his gun in the town for some time and terrorizing the public. Meanwhile, Ahmed told reporters outside the police station that the mob tried to attack and kill him.
SP Vishnu Warrier told reporters that the injured were taken to RIMS hospital in Adilabad and then transferred to Hyderabad for better treatment. He said police controlled the situation and called on all parties to remain calm.
Two Town Police have registered a case under section 307 (attempted murder), 324 (Willfully causing harm with dangerous weapons), 506 r / w 34 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and under sections 27 and 30 of the Act of Arms of 1959.
The preliminary investigation, police said, points to past grudges between the two sides as the source of the conflict.
The police have increased their presence in the town and have also written to the Adilabad district collector for the immediate cancellation of the defendant’s gun license.
