New Delhi: Dr. Sudhir Gupta, Chairman of the AIIMS Medical Board, claimed that actor Sushant Singh Rajput was “killed” in an audio clip accessed by Times Now.

In the leaked audiotape, Dr. Gupta, the head of the AIIMS team formed at the CBI’s request for an expert medical opinion in the case, claimed that the actor did not die by suicide but was murdered. Times Now’s Priyank Tripathi reported.

The head of the medical board had reportedly made the statement after looking at the Rajput photographs.

Dr. Gupta’s leaked audio admission contradicts the medical team’s findings presented to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday.

AIIMS panel report dismisses murder allegations

In its report, the AIIMS panel of forensic experts has ruled out the homicide allegations and described it as a case of hanging and death by suicide, rejecting the allegations of poisoning and strangulation made by the actor’s family and his lawyer.

“There were no injuries to the body other than the gallows. There were no fight or scuffle marks on the body and clothing of the deceased, ”Dr. Gupta said in the board’s findings.

The AIIMS medical board of forensic experts, headed by Dr. Gupta, was created in August after the CBI asked him to investigate medical records related to the Rajput death, study the autopsy and viscera reports and give an expert medical opinion in the case.

Earlier today, sources within the AIIMS forensic team said the panel made up of senior doctors had investigated all angles and concluded that Rajput died by suicide. Dr. Gupta also reiterated that Rajput’s death is a suicide case by hanging.

Meanwhile, sources within CBI said there is no ambiguity about the cause of death, adding that it is incitement to the suicide angle.

Sushant’s family cries badly

The Rajput family’s lawyer, Vikas Singh, rejected the AIIMS panel’s findings on the case and said he was highly disturbed by the report. He also said that the CBI should set up a new forensic team to investigate the medical files in the case.

Singh had previously claimed that a doctor, who was part of the AIIMS team, had told him “long ago” that the photos of the late actor indicated that he was supposedly a death by strangulation, not suicide.

“The doctor who is part of the AIIMS team had told me long ago that the photos sent by me indicated 200% that it is death by strangulation and not suicide,” Singh had tweeted.

The 34-year-old actor was found hanging in his apartment in Mumbai’s Bandra on June 14.
