New Delhi:
A forensic team from the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has conducted a viscera test from the reports of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput to check for poisoning, the results of which will arrive within 10 days, said Dr. Sudhir. Gupta, AIIMS on Monday.
Dr. Gupta, head of AIIMS Forensic Department, is also the chairman of the medical board formed in the case of Mr. Rajput’s death.
The AIIMS forensic team is analyzing the pattern of injuries in relation to the medical findings in the death of the Bollywood star with the CBI, which is investigating the case, approaching the main investigative institute for its medico-legal opinion.
The move comes days after the Supreme Court approved the CBI investigation recommended by the Bihar government to investigate the actor’s death.
Dr. Gupta had previously said that the IWC will provide them with reports related to Mr. Rajput’s death case.
He then stated that the case is being examined by the medical board and that the report will only be submitted to the CBI in due course.
Meanwhile, actor Rhea Chakraborty arrived at the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office in Mumbai on Monday morning for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation related to the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput.
Ms. Chakraborty was also questioned by the OCN on Sunday.
“We have recorded Rhea Chakraborty’s statement, but due to her late arrival, the investigation could not continue today (Sunday). The investigation will continue tomorrow,” IRS Officer Sameer Wankhede, NCB, told reporters yesterday.
The NCB also said that Dipesh Sawant, who was the house helper of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, is an active member of a drug syndicate connected to high society personalities and drug suppliers.
“Based on the statements of Dipesh Sawant, home aide to the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, and the digital evidence compiled by the OCN, it is clear that Dipesh is an active member of the drug syndicate related to high society personalities and drug providers, “NCB said.
Dipesh Sawant was arrested on Saturday based on statements and digital evidence and Parihar was arrested based on the statement of Zain Vilatra, who revealed that he has been involved in drug trafficking.
The NCB also arrested actor Rhea’s brother, Showik, and his partner Samuel Miranda for their role in obtaining and handling drugs. They will soon be presented in court.
Previously, Rhea and Showik were questioned by the Directorate of Enforcement and the Central Bureau of Investigation.
