AIADMK launches an electoral campaign, sends a clear message to BJP that EPS is CM’s candidate, there is no shared power | Chennai News

CHENNAI: The ruling AIADMK launched his campaign for the next elections to the assembly in Tamil Nadu on Sunday, using the occasion to send a clear message to the BJP that the prime minister Edappadi K Palaniswami he will be the CM candidate and will not share power with any party if he wins the elections.
Addressing the meeting, the AIADMK deputy coordinator and Rajya Sabha MP KP Munusamy He lashed out at the BJP, without mentioning it, for its stance on EPS as a CM candidate.
“Our prime minister, Palaniswami, will be CM’s candidate in the next assembly elections. AIADMK will lead the alliance. He will come to power. AIADMK will not share power with anyone. Any national party that wants an alliance with such aspiration is not necessary, “Munusamy said, setting the tone for the party’s campaign and sending a clear message to the BJP, whose leaders have maintained that the party will decide CM’s candidate for NDA.
Senior Vice Minister O Panneerselvam, who is also the party’s coordinator, and CM Palaniswami, who is the party’s joint coordinator, also chose not to mention anything about the alliance or potential allies, including the BJP. Both leaders attacked the DMK and its president MK Stalin.
In his speech, Panneerselvam called on party cadres to reach out to all households and highlight the achievements of the AIADMK government and remind them of the dangers of having voted for the previous DMK regime in the state.
“Let’s work as one unit. The people have only good things to say about our government. Work hard to turn that positive perception about us into votes,” Panneerselvam told the cadres, addressing the AIADMK election campaign launch meeting. celebrated in YMCA grounds, Royapettah in Chennai on Sunday noon.
“DMK was in power in the Center for 16 years, but failed to bring a single project to Tamil Nadu. Whereas, we don’t even have a minister in the Union cabinet, but we have brought AIIMS to Madurai, plus 11 new government medical faculties to Tamil Nadu. During the previous DMK regime, Tamil Nadu was reeling from a 60% power outage and thousands of workers were out of work due to power shortages, ”said Panneerselvam.
Prime Minister Palaniswami expressed confidence that AIADMK will return to power for the third time in a row. “We work for the people of this state, unlike the leaders of DMK who work for the people in their homes. As in the parliamentary elections, DMK and its president MK Stalin will make false promises. But they will not implement them. Our cadres should tell you. that people are not victims of such falsehood. People know how to differentiate the Lok Sabha from the assembly elections, “said Palaniswami.
“DMK Chairman Stalin met with the Governor of Tamil Nadu and handed him a petition alleging irregularities committed by me and other ministers. They are all false accusations. Stalin complains about stagnant rainwater in Chennai. Were you sleeping for five years when you were elected? Mayor of Chennai Corporation and then when did he become deputy chief minister and minister of local administration? Compared to 3,000 areas that reported stagnant water previously, only 17 locations face that problem now. People know how we work, ”Palaniswami said, attacking Stalin.
