“I am proud to tell you that this is the only democratic party in the country,” the CM of Tamil Nadu told the party cadres.
At the start of the AIADMK election campaign that took place in Chennai in Royapettah on December 27, ahead of the 2021 elections, Prime Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami praised his party’s culture and said he respects its cadres. The Chief Minister claimed that his party was the only party in the country where a party cadre had the opportunity to become Chief Minister. “AIADMK is the only party in all of India where a cadre (thondan) has become the Chief Minister. Today I can be here, Brother O Panneerselvam can be here. Tomorrow he can become Prime Minister, ”proclaimed Edappadi.
“I am proud to tell you that this is the only democratic party in the country; the only one who values even his paintings ”, he said. Stating that AIADMK has stood together despite the challenges along the way, he said: “How many political parties have divided in India? Divided Communist Party, did it join? Congress divided, merged? Even DMK split. Were they back together? But AIADMK is the only party to come together again and the credits go to Amma Jayalalithaa. AIADMK is a party with cadres and workers. “
He also added that AIADMK will win in the next elections with his unit. “The two great leaders, MGR and Jayalalithaa, had no heirs. They lived and worked their entire lives for us, their heirs, ”he said. “Unity and hard work are the only two things that will bring us success,” he added.
“Many political leaders still refer to MGR, invoking his name. Even the enemies are using his name. AIADMK is a party created by those people. Those who plan to defeat this party will be defeated, ”he said.
Edappadi K Palaniswami went on to list all the successful welfare measures and plans undertaken by AIADMK during his government. Also present during the meeting were Principal Vice Minister O Panneerselvam, AIADMK Deputy Coordinator, KP Munusamy, among others.
