The civic body of the city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat has launched an online facility for people from priority groups to register for the COVID-19 vaccine, an official said on Saturday.
According to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, citizens of the city’s priority groups who have not yet registered with health workers conducting a house-to-house survey or at urban health centers (CSU) can register at www.ahmedabadcity.gov. in.
The civic body has started the registration process for health workers, frontline workers, people over 50 and under 50 who suffer from comorbid conditions, according to an official statement.
People from these priority groups who have not yet registered with health workers can approach the closest CSUs with their identity cards, such as driver’s license, PAN card, voter card, etc., it was indicated.
“They can also register on the AMC website www.ahmedabadcity.gov.in. This facility is only for citizens who have yet registered with healthcare workers or at UHC,” the statement said.
The Gujarat government had previously said that it had already identified around 3.9 lakh of healthcare workers as the first priority group for COVID-19 vaccination, which includes 2.71 doctors, nurses, government laboratory technicians and Class 3 employees. and 4.
The list also includes 1.25 doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians, and private hospital employees who are on duty for COVID-19.
Police, home guards, and others indirectly involved in COVID-19 treatment and services will be given second priority, state Health Minister Nitin Patel previously said.
A survey has been carried out to identify priority groups comprising people over 50 and under 50 with various diseases.
