Ahmedabad: major fire breaks out in three chemical factories, no casualties reported

A large fire broke out and spread to three factories in the phase 2 area of ​​Ahmedabad’s Vatva Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) around 12:20 am on Wednesday.

According to officials, the fire was first reported around 12:30 a.m. at a Matangi companies chemical factory in the Vatva GIDC phase 2 area near the Vatva Vinzol rail crossing, which soon spread around two factories.

Such was the impact of the fire that its flames could be seen from far away areas causing panic in residential outbreaks in the Vatva area.

No casualties or injuries have been reported in the fire incident. More than 100 members of the fire safety department staff along with ambulances were taken to the scene.

“The fire was first reported around 12:30 am, after which 6 fire engines and 24 water tankers were moved to the scene. The fire has now been controlled but we are still fighting to put it out. No casualties have been reported and the cause of the fire remains unknown as of yet, ”said Rajesh Bhatt, additional fire chief of the fire safety department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
