Ahmedabad curfew news: Night curfew to stay in Ahmedabad and other cities | Ahmedabad News

GANDHINAGAR: Thanking people for cooperating with the administration during the curfew in Ahmedabad, CM Vijay Rupani said on Sunday that the night curfew will continue in Ahmedabad and other major cities until further instructions.
Rupani said that the drastic step of imposing a curfew in Ahmedabad for more than 50 hours was necessary to control the increasing cases of Covid. The night curfew will continue from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am in Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot and Vadodara.
“I appeal to people even in cities where there is no night curfew to avoid venturing out unless it is an emergency,” said the CM. He said local authorities and police have been told to strictly enforce the mask rule.
No need to panic: CM
The CM asked people not to panic, as the state government has provided adequate beds, doctors and other facilities for Covid patients. Meanwhile, a three-member core team, which is visiting Gujarat to inspect and oversee the state government’s efforts to curb the crown, met with CM, Deputy CM Nitin Patel, and other officials on Sunday. Led by Dr. Sujeet Kumar Singh, director of the National Center for Disease Control, the team visited hospitals in Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Mehsana. The team took stock of treatment facilities, surveillance and prevention measures, and other steps the administration was taking. The team is said to have expressed satisfaction with the “Dhanvantari Rath” surveillance model and believed that it could be replicated in other states. The team was also satisfied with the home isolation protocols, surveillance of specific areas, and house-to-house surveys to verify community transmission of the virus.
