Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that the agricultural reforms introduced by the government will connect farmers directly to the market and “send intermediaries out of the system.”
“The agricultural reforms will directly benefit farmers. They will be directly connected to the market and the middleman will be outside the system. Farmers in Purvanchal (eastern Uttar Pradesh) will also benefit from this,” the prime minister said. while launching various projects for his constituency of Lok Sabha, Varanasi, via video conferencing.

Highlighting various schemes launched by the government, Modi said that under the Swamitva scheme, farmers will receive property cards, which will not only help them obtain loans, but “the game of seizing their properties will also end.”
He said that Varanasi is witnessing comprehensive development in all sectors and this is giving the city a new identity.
“The development in Varanasi is helping not only the people of Purvanchal, who will now not have to go to Delhi for their jobs, but also people from other parts of the country,” he added.
Beginning his speech in Bhojpuri with “Har Har Mahadev”, the prime minister thanked the people of Varanasi for their “social unity” in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
He greeted the Purvanchal farmers, saying that even during the pandemic, they worked hard in their fields and are witnessing good harvests. PTI
