Agra doctor killed at home, children injured as TV technician launches stabbing


A doctor was killed on Friday inside her residence in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, and her two children were stabbed during the violent attack that was allegedly carried out by a young man known to the family. The accused has been arrested by the police.

The incident took place in the Kamla Nagar area of ​​Agra when Dr. Nisha Singhal was at home with her children and her husband, a surgeon by profession, was in hospital on call. The defendant broke into the home for the purpose of robbery, slit Dr. Singhal’s throat and stabbed her children in the next room.

When her husband was informed of the tragic events, he took Dr. Singhal to the hospital, where she succumbed to her critical injuries. The children are currently in treatment.

Shortly after the incident, the main police officers arrived on the scene and launched a search operation for the defendant, Shubham, who allegedly reloaded the family’s set-top box for the television. As he tried to escape by bicycle, the police tried to stop him, but he opened fire on them.

In retaliation for police shooting, the defendant suffered gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the police have recovered a bag with the stolen goods.

“Several teams were formed, after which the police arrested the accused,” said Ajay Anand, Agra ADG Zone.

IG Range A Satish Ganesh said: “When the police launched the investigation, it was discovered that the malefactor named Shubham had killed the doctor after the robbery. When the police started looking for him, he tried to escape by bicycle. When the police tried to arrest Shubham, they opened fire on the police. The police responded, causing a gunshot wound to Shubham. Later, the defendant was admitted to the hospital and a bag containing jewelry and cash was also recovered from the place.
