Calcutta: Trinamool Congressman Mahua Moitra, who recently came under fire for describing the press as “two paisa”, on Friday criticized the alleged attack on the convoy of BJP chief JP Nadda in West Bengal.

Moitra, who called yesterday’s incident a “staged” attack, said that CRPF, CISF and all central forces accompany every “two-bit leader” who visits the state.

“I had heard of BYOB parties at college. @BJP has a BYOS (Bring Your Own Security) party every day in Bengal: CRPF, CISF and every imaginable central force accompany every two-bit leader he visits. It’s a shame they can’t protect you from “organized” attacks, “he said in a tweet.

He also shot West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, calling him an “unelected axman” of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“The BJP’s unelected ax posing as governor to ‘investigate’ the alleged attack on the BJP president’s convoy !? It seems the BJP is not even pretending that Uncle Ji is an impartial constitutional official, but a lackey sent from Delhi to carry out his orders, “he said in another tweet.

West Bengal Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee claimed on Thursday that the incident of the attack on the BJP president’s convoy in the state is a “drama” to divert attention from the lack of assistance to his rally.

Wondering if the attack could have been planned, the TMC chief asked how Nadda’s car could be attacked when BJP leaders are protected by central security forces such as CISF, CRPF or BSF.

Nadda’s convoy attacked in Bengal

Nadda’s convoy was reportedly attacked with bricks and stones on Thursday afternoon as it headed to Diamond Harbor in the South 24 Parganas district from Kolkata to address a meeting of party workers.

The BJP chief, who escaped unharmed, was accompanied by several other party leaders, including the party’s general secretary, Kailash Vijayvargiya, who was injured in the incident. Diamond Harbor is the Lok Sabha constituency of Trinamool deputy Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Addressing BJP workers after the incident, Nadda said: “What I witnessed today is shocking and unprecedented. West Bengal has become a state characterized by utter anarchy and intolerance. The administration has completely failed and goonda raj prevails. “.

“If I have come here for the meeting it is thanks to the grace of Maa Durga … I imagine how difficult it is for the party workers in Bengal,” said the BJP chief, who was on a two-day visit to the been in view of next year’s Assembly election, he said.

Union Interior Minister Amit Shah has requested a report from the West Bengal government on the alleged “serious security breaches” during Nadda’s visit, the circumstances and the measures that have been taken in this regard.

This came after the head of the BJP state unit, Dilip Ghosh, wrote to Shah accusing the state-ruling Trinamool Congress of orchestrating the attack.
