Chandigarh, November 25

Punjab’s Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and his former Cabinet colleague Navjot Singh Sidhu held a one-hour lunch meeting today at the former’s farm in Siswan.

Sports Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi was also reportedly present at the meeting, after which Sidhu departed for Amritsar.

The AICC secretary general and head of Punjab affairs, Harish Rawat, who had been trying to bring the two together, called it a positive development. “My work is done. The older brother (captain) and the younger brother can now devise a strategy to advance for the benefit of Punjab, ”Rawat said. “It was a warm and friendly lunch in which the Chief Minister and Navjot Singh Sidhu discussed a number of important political issues of national and Punjab interest,” CM’s media adviser tweeted.

The meeting could soon see the reintroduction of Sidhu into the state cabinet. There could also be a reorganization of departments. – TNS
