NEW DELHI: After the Prime Minister Narendra modiInnovative apps mentioned in Mann Ki Baat last Sunday, various indigenous apps have been ranked in the top 10 on the app store in their respective categories.
In the “social” category, the indigenous apps in the top 10 are: Josh, Snapchat, Sharechat, Moj, Roposo and Chingari. In the education segment, apps like Ap Sarkar Seva, Drishti, Saraldata, Voot kids, PunjabEducare, Doubtnut, Kutuki Kids, are new favorites, while in the health and fitness category, the Aarogya Setu app leads followed by other indigenous apps like Stepsetgo, Home Workout, Loss. Men’s Weight App, Height Gain Workout, Six Packs in 30 Days.
In the latest episode of “Mann Ki Baat” last week, Modi had urged citizens to support indigenously developed apps, which was seen not only as an attempt to boost the “Self-sufficient India” campaign, but also push testing of these apps as they replace other popular apps, which are controlled by foreign companies and are not considered secure.
Modi had appreciated some of the indigenously developed apps like Koo, StepSetGo, Zoho, Chingari, Kutuki, FTC talent, etc.
The “Aatmanirbhar Application Innovation Challenge” had selected the best applications from around 7,000 entries across India. These were from different categories like games, entertainment, business, public services, social media, and fitness.
“Earlier this month, the country’s youth received an application innovation challenge. Our young people wholeheartedly participated in the Atmanirbhar Bharat Application Innovation Challenge. Around 7,000 entries were received which included nearly two-thirds of applications created by youth from Tier 2 and 3 cities, ”Modi had said, praising the innovations made by Indian youth.
“The next Google, Facebook AND Twitter They come from India. Our ultimate goal is to replace these sites with Indian versions, ”said one official, elaborating the Prime Minister’s statement that innovations made by Indian youth will be recognized by the world in the future.
