After Maryam Nawaz’s Energetic Speech Against Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, Her Husband Safdar Was Arrested | World News

Maryam Nawaz, daughter of former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, tweeted on Monday (October 19) that her husband, Captain Safdar Awan, was arrested by the Karachi police.

Maryam, who is a high-ranking leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), said that the Karachi police opened the door of the hotel room where she was staying and arrested Captain Safdar.

Maryam’s husband was arrested hours after he participated in a massive protest by Pakistan’s opposition parties against Prime Minister Imran Khan. Police jumped into action after the rally in Karachi of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), which was also joined by the Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto.

During the demonstration, Maryam Nawaz criticized Prime Minister Imran Khan, accusing him of tarnishing the image of the Pakistani army to hide the failures of his government.

“When they pressure you for answers, you hide behind the armed forces. Coward! You dishonor the army. You use them [army] To hide your own failures Who gave you this right? Maryam said.

The rally was also led by Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and Pakhtunkhwa Party Chairman Milli Awami, Mehmood Achakzai, among other leaders.

Maryam also criticized Prime Minister Khan for threatening the opposition with “tough” action and vowed to launch a mass movement to bring Nawaz Sharif back to the country and send Imran to jail.

“Yesterday you should have seen a man screaming his defeat on your television screens. Your [PM Imran] tell people ‘ghabrana nai hai’, there has only been one jalsa yet and you are already worried. Your fear was evident in every word, in every action of yours, and people want to see that fear on your face, “he told the prime minister. “If you don’t know how to show grace and have no one to teach you, you should have learned from Nawaz Sharif,” he said, reminding Prime Minister Imran Khan of the 126-day sit-in called by PTI on Shahrah-e-Dastoor.

“Your [PM Imran] He went to empty chairs, dug the grave of democracy, [and yet] Nawaz Sharif never took his name. Even today, you will yearn for it, but Nawaz Sharif will not even take your name, because children have no role in the struggle between the elderly, ”Maryam added.
