The BMC sent him a notice the same day he posted a “stop work notice” on the adjacent Kangana property. He cited four unauthorized irregularities / changes and has been asked to respond within seven days with clarification or permission if taken. The notice alleges that the fashion designer did not obtain the necessary permission to convert his residence into a commercial space.
Speaking to the Mumbai Mirror, a Malhotra spokesman said there were no irregularities and that the office “has been in the same condition” for the past 15 years. “If there are any concerns raised by the BMC, we will cooperate with them and address them,” he said.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Kangana’s lawyer, Rizwan Siddiqui, quickly approached the Bombay High Court, where a divisional court made up of Judge SJ Kathawalla and Judge RI Chagla suspended the demolition and held the matter for a new hearing. Thursday.
