After Film City, CM Yogi Adityanath Announces Magnificent Riverside Along the Ganges River in Kanpur | India News

Kanpur: In good news for the people of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Thursday (September 24) that the city will soon have a magnificent riverbank along the Ganges River. The announcement was made when UP CM Yogi was reviewing the Kanpur division’s development projects.

Recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s last visit to Kanpur, Yogi said: “The prime minister was all praise for the clean water of the Ganges, so we give him the gift of the riverbank in line with his feelings towards the Ganges,” according to ANI reported.

Yogi also assured that the development work near the Ganges river will be implemented effectively under the “Namami Gange” project. He then ordered officials to prepare an action plan to immediately build a large riverbank along the Ganges, in addition to the rapid implementation of “Namami Gange.”

The Chief Minister reviewed the development projects of the Kanpur division comprising Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Kannauj, Farrukhabad, Auraiya and Etawah via video conferencing.

According to ANI, the Chief Minister also called on officials to accelerate the Smart City projects and the Metro project in Kanpur, noting that the Bundelkhand Expressway under construction will pass through the division’s Etawah and Auraiya districts.

This will give a boost to the state’s economic growth, he said, ordering officials to begin construction work at Kanpur Dehat Medical College. He also called for reducing the death rate from COVID in Farrukhabad district and indicated that all hospital beds must be supplied with oxygen.

Adityanath further said that Kanpur remains a COVID-19 hotspot and that the next six months remain crucial. “A third of the total COVID tests per day should be done by RT-PCR and the rest by the Rapid Antigen method,” Adityanath said.

The Chief Minister emphasized 100% geotagging of toilets built under the command of PM Awas Yojana, CM Awas Yojana or the Swachha Bharat Mission. He stated that the money earmarked for development should not be used elsewhere, otherwise it will invite the government to take strict measures.
